For young people

Kooth is the UK’s largest and longest established digital mental health service. We partner with NHS and local authority organisations to deliver game-changing mental health support to young people from age 10 and up.

A safe space for everyone

Kooth is for all young people - whatever background, whatever situation:

  • Free - Kooth is funded in a local services partnership, so users never have to pay

  • Private and confidential - no need to share details, so everyone can seek help in absolute confidence

  • Safe space - every forum message and all content on our platform is checked by our safety team

  • Flexible - available 365 days a year. No waiting lists, young people can use as much or as little as they like

My Kooth journey

  • Caua's story

Caua made this video to explain how Kooth helped him. He describes how using Kooth gave him confidence, made him feel less alone and meant he could go on to find different ways to cope with stress and anxiety.

Like many other people we hear from, he said: "If it wasn't for Kooth, I don't know where I would be today."

  • Stasia's story

"I was struggling with friendship issues and general school stressors. I reached out to the Kooth team multiple times, whether I was extremely upset and panicked or needed calming down or just someone to speak to..."

  • Freya's story

"I love that it's free and easily accessible. My favourite tool they gave me was the coping box. You fill a box with things that make you happy like your favourite book or a nice smelling candle, postcards or photos..."

  • Jessica's story

"I found community with Kooth. Personally, depression and anxiety for me was like looking through sunglasses. The world appeared distorted. I felt alone..."

I'm not used to face to face counselling so chatting to someone via live chat feels like a nice starting point for me.
