Waiting list support

Kooth’s Integrated Digital Pathway (IDP) relieves NHS pressures by offering immediate support to people on waiting lists.

Add capacity, alleviate pressure

Our flexible Integrated Digital Pathway (IDP) provides timely structured interventions, helping to reduce pressure at key pressure points in the system:

  1. CAMHS internal treatment waiting lists - additional capacity to safely discharge

  2. Crisis step-down - for inappropriate Accident & Emergency presentations

  3. Neurodiversity assessment waiting lists - mental health support for those awaiting neurodiversity assessment

Transformational partnerships

Kooth works in partnership with NHS mental health services to co-design, tailor and integrate successful intervention pathways.

In Lincolnshire, the ‘Help to Cope’ IDP pilot was developed in partnership with Lincolnshire’s CAMHS Crisis and Enhanced Treatment Team (CCETT), Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust, and Lincolnshire County Council.

'Help to Cope' allowed team members to refer out to Kooth to give young people immediate access to support.

In Suffolk, the ‘My Support’ IDP pilot was co-designed with Suffolk CAMHS. It was developed to support Early Intervention (EI) CAMHS by providing immediate online structured support for children and young people (CYP) aged 11-25 on Kooth.

How it works

Kooth's chief clinical officer, Dr Lynne Green, explains how the Integrated Digital Pathway is available for children and young people through to adults.

It works alongside CAMHS teams, using the same outcome measures and ensuring that people on waiting lists receive the support they need.

Mapping the IDP onto local needs

Kooth works through several stages to ensure each IDP maps on to local needs, including:

  • Understanding key pressure points in existing services

  • Co-production of ideal shared care pathway

  • Identification of appropriate patients for support

Our expert clinical team would develop a tailored IDP service to receive specific referrals, deliver focused interventions and work to an agreed process for discharge or onward referral, if appropriate.
