Kooth has launched a competition to find our first-ever youth-powered content team. Called Kooth Future Council, this unique opportunity equips 15-18-year-olds with valuable skills in video editing, content creation, and leadership.

80% of young people report feeling more comfortable discussing mental health when it is approached creatively and openly.[1]

Ten young people will have the chance to collaborate with some amazing creatives and artists in this exciting new campaign. Content creator Luke Vernon, musician and poet Dan Whitlam, and artist Eva Malley will be on hand to share their skills and expertise.

Luke Vernon, content creator, says of the initiative:

The Kooth Future Council is an amazing chance for young people to harness their creativity to spark conversations about mental health. As someone who loves being creative, I understand how vital it is for mental wellbeing. I’m excited to work with these inspiring young minds and help them discover unique ways to express their feelings and experiences.

Participants won’t just learn from the talent they admire—they’ll also gain practical vocational skills that can help strengthen college applications, CVs, or UCAS forms. It's a brilliant opportunity to learn, create, lead conversations around mental health and take a step towards a career in the creative industry.

Those who win a place on the Council will be given access to a series of masterclasses designed to encourage discussions about mental wellbeing through creativity, whilst creating content that will be showcased in mental wellbeing campaigns for young people in 2025.

To be in with a chance of winning a spot on the Council, eligible young people can share their creative work which answers the question:

‘How do you overcome negative emotions?’

All levels of creative ability are encouraged to take part and for those wishing to enter, submissions can be in the form of video, artwork, photography, or creative writing.

If you know any 15–18 year olds who might be interested, feel free to share this opportunity with them.
